Adam Pugh Urges Oklahomans to Vote NO on State Question 836
OKLAHOMA CITY – State Senator Adam Pugh, a conservative Republican candidate for state superintendent, says Oklahomans should reject State Question 836, warning it would fundamentally alter Oklahoma’s election system and undermine voter confidence.
Pugh, R-Edmond, said SQ 836 would replace Oklahoma’s current elections with a California-style system that has produced chaos and confusion.
“State Question 836 would be a disaster for Oklahoma voters,” Pugh said. “It gives well-funded, special interests more influence and weakens local control over elections. It also threatens the integrity and transparency of our elections by importing a system that has led to dysfunction and distrust elsewhere. We’re seeing yet another well-funded, out-of-state effort trying to reshape Oklahoma into something it’s not.
“Oklahomans value accountability, common sense and strong communities – not the failed policies that have driven crime, instability and political gamesmanship in places like California. We must protect the process that keep our elections secure and our voices heard. I urge Oklahomans to vote NO on State Question 836 and keep our elections working for the people of this state.”
